SOUTH LOOP SCHOOL FINE ARTS DEPARTMENT FINE ARTS OUTCOMES AND LONG RANGE GOALS FROM EACH FINE ARTS DISCIPLINE

OUTCOMES:
As a result of their schooling, students will be able to:

I. Perceive and analyze the arts.
II. Create and perform in the arts.
III. Understand cultural and historical place value of the arts.
IV. Value the arts aesthetically.

These outcomes encompass all the state goals for the fine arts. On the following pages are single overarching objectives from each of the arts disciplines at South Loop School. All draw from the outcomes in some way.


ACTIVITIES:
Activities maybe similar at each grade level, the level of difficulty will increase with each advancing grade level and within the ability of each individual student.

ASSESSMENT:
The primary form of assessment of assessment will be actual classroom participation and performance of weekly lesson goals.

More formal assessments will include formative and summative assessments on a quarterly basis. Students will be expected to score at 80% accuracy as an indication that concepts taught are being learned. Assessment will be a combination of oral, written, performance, and project based.
